Pricing
Find out how easy it is to order a portrait by following these 3 simple steps. I have a secure Payment option via Credit/Debit Card via Stripe or bank transfer, I offer gift certificates and I courier internationally (postage additional). Prices start from NZD $950,000 30cm W x 40cm D for the smallest size painting in either oil or pastel for ONE subject only (additional pets are extra). So lets start looking at photographs of your pet or child to work from.
Step 1. Lets discuss Photographs
Finding a great photograph is important. The light must be at the right angle, to illuminate the eyes and to provide as much detail as possible it must be clear and in colour. Sending via email at high resolution will give me the best image to work from. I can accept copies of your original photograph as well but not the original. You can send a selection of photographs through and we can discuss the best photo option for your portrait. I can work on a single portrait of one or many animals in the one picture, be mindful pricing will be higher for multiple subjects.
Step 2. Lets discuss details
Discussing and confirming all the details of your portrait, background options, oil or pastel, canvas and paper sizes, size of the actual portrait subject and the pricing - then we finalize your booking. Once finalized your portrait is confirmed and is booked into my schedule. There is normally a waiting list for my portraits, however they are usually finished within 10 days give or take a few days once they have commenced.
Step 3. Lets discuss Payment
On booking the portrait I require 50% upfront of the confirmed price. Payments for NZ clients can be made via bank deposit, or cash if local. All international clients are welcome to pay via bank deposit or using Paypal. Once your portrait has been completed, I email through a photograph (if not local) and the remaining 50% is required within 4 days prior to postage - this will include postal/courier charges.
As soon as I have received payment your portrait will be sent to you or a time will be made for pickup with payment if you are local. Any additional charges such as taxes or duties will be your responsibility on arrival at the destination for overseas clients.
Once you have your portrait
Be mindful that your portrait is delicate, pastel in particular must be kept in a dry environment. Speak to your trusted framer about options to protect and care for your artwork. Direct sunlight, firelight and fluorescent lights can be harmful to pastels and oils, so chose the area you hang your portrait carefully. Select walls inside your home rather than those facing to the exterior as this is better for temperature regulation, especially for framed portraits with glass. All the pastel work is done on acid free, archival and age resistant paper or specific board (Bristol board).
